I recently got a blackberry 8900 and want to access gtalk using wifi, but it kept saying "connecting" forever, so I am wondering can I access gtalk using wifi or must I have a data plan?

Thanks

its likely you need a data plan
as i believe google talk is developed by RIM and they wont allow access (even wi-fi) without a data plan.

thanks, but how about other instant messagers, like MSN or yahoo messager?

msn and yahoo are also developed by RIM
you would need something like a 3rd party app
IM+ or equilivent.

erm not sure
i know gmail has its own developed app for accessing email, which i believe works off wi-fi.

but only show the gmail, when I want to look at the email or delete them, doesn't work
