7130e - Not Tri band??

I just found out that this phone is not tri-band. This sux - as most coverage in northern new england is analog (i believe). Can someone verify this? I go to Vermont often and with my current phone (7100t from Tmobile) it gets great service in Vermont and even gets EMAIL! I have a feeling that this is NOT going to work in VT. Crap!

Nope It's not , It's only CDMA EV-DO "1"X capable.

Your gonna need to wait for 2X EV-VO for atleast Dual.

I go to a spot in Michigan on weekends and my LG Verizon phone works, sometimes in analog but mostly (95%) in "extended digital". I have been waiting for the 7130 and was planning on picking one up next week. Will it work in the extended digital areas at least, I know it will not work in 100% analog?

Yes it will. Just be sure you have a current PRL.

Analog will be phased out very soon anyway so I wouldn't worry about this very much.

PRL is Prefered Roaming List. *228 option 2 once a month keeps it up to date.

you do the *22899 to initially register your phone on the VZW network, if you don't it won't work. They do this in the store or have you do it if buying a phone via mail. It is recommended to do this on a monthy basis to update the preferred roaming list. So that when you are roaming, you are using preferred VZW extended network. If you don't do it regularly, you can and will still roam, but just may not be able to access a network that was recently added since you last updated your PRL. Clear as mud? Hope this answers your question.
