Problem with freezing

So I got the pearl and I love it but everytime I text ONLY my one friend my phone freezes for so long that I am unable to use it for 2 mins. I have tried taking the battery out, deleting the contact, switched phones and it still freezes. Anyone have any suggestions??

After you pull the battery, does it lock up right away again when you are texting?

Do you have a lot of SMS messages from that contact? I would recommend deleting all messages from that contact and see if it clears things up a bit.
