This morning I took a user's device and entered the wrong password a few times. Gave it back to the user who then they went spacey and did the same. Now the thing's been stuck at "final attempt" for hours even after several shut downs and battery pulls. When does the count start over so I can try again without wiping the device?

It starts over when you enter the correct password.

Yup. You get ten tries. Period. Hopefully they backed up their data before they came in to see you.

Is the device on a BES?
If so, have the BES admin set a new password and push it to the device.

Or you could send him a new password via the BES. That starts the count over as well.

Thanks. That's what I did.
