Application transfer

If I get a new blackberry in the future, will I be able to transfer an application to it?

I was to buy an expensive medical reference application, I want to be able to keep it for a long time!

You can do this, assuming the manuf doesn't ask for a PIN/imei/ESN when registering/buying

I've always found it better to download a new version of the app I want on my new device and transfer the lincense for it when possible. Even if the old license was tied to the old device's IMEI/PIN, the developer will usually give you a new license key for the new device.

I've moved apps through four different BBs over the years, and all the respectable apps (i.e., more expensive) moved over with a simple email explaining the situation. (I don't worry too much about the $2.99 stuff.)
