Anyone successfully sends an SMS message from the blackberry through GPRS? Everytime I tried to send one, it doesn't go through. I'm using a 7290.

I send them all the time just fine between carriers from my ATT 7210

What are the settings that you have? Everytime I tried sending, it gives me in the inbox the failed message with a large red X beside it.

No real settings to speak of, just default settings on work GW BES server.

So its on the BES server side. Would you be able to direct me to some info on the settings? I can get the admin of our BES to enable it.

You BES admin would have to specifically disable SMS via BES. Ask him if this is the case. If no modifications were made to the default policies though, you shouldn't have a problem

Can you send an SMS to yourself?

No, I can't send SMS to myself either. I'll ask the admin if he had SMS disabled..
