HELP 9630 on AT&T

Two things:

1) I just got an unlocked Sprint 9630 that I'm using on AT&T - I followed the steps on Berryology, and while I now have the browser, my data fluctuates from EDGE to edge, mostly edge. and yes, I do have BIS. Any way to fix/prevent this?

2) When I plugged in the Tour to my computer, it said updates are available - if I update the OS (I'm assuming a newer version is available), will it re-lock the phone?

Updates never re-lock a BlackBerry. With other devices this does happen. The iPhone is a good example of updates re-locking it. No worries with a BlackBerry though.

The latest OS update (4.7.1.57) fixes a lot of little annoyances and it perfectly stable. It might help your fluctuating signal. Also, go into Options > Mobile Network and set Network Technology to "GSM/UMTS".
