I own a Blackberry 8700. The phone switches off at any moment. It will not switch back on (and stay on) unless connected to a power source. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

I have tried downloading the Operating System. Unfortunately, I cannot find one that matches the specs of my phone. My phone is:
Blackberry 8700TM.
v 4.2.1.96 (Platform 2.3.0.79)
Cryptographic Kernel v.3.8.4.34.
Can I use any of the Operating Systems listed for this particular phone?

Hi - that OS should work on your phone. Please make sure you follow the directions to the letter. Remember to locate and delete VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive - the OS should load.
Good luck.

Hello,
Following the instructions, I was able to load the Operating System on to the Handset. However, the problem persists. The handset still switches off unexpectedly, and will not switch on (or stay on) unless connected to a power source. I am really concerned.
