Trackpad issues

Has anyone had a issue with their optical trackpad?
Sometimes when I am on the menu or checking something on slacker, if I wait a bit the trackpad becomes unresponsive, I have to either click it or press something like menu button and only then it becomes responsive again.

Also, the trackpad works with a light underneath, right? Probably an infrared light, sensing the direction of the shadow or something?

I would contact the service provider you purchased your 9700 from and ask for a different unit. I don't see any reason they would object to swap your unit out with a newer more efficient one regarding your optical trackpad issue...
