I have an old RIM Blackberry 7230, I don't have an internet plan or anything but it looks like I have some wireless thing; is there anyway I can access the internet and emails for free?

Ive looked around and people have said something to do with APN codes or what not. can anyone help me, or confirm that this isn't possible?

No need to double post!!

To answer your question, No you need a data plan

I am not sure. You may be able to access the Opera Mini browser from a hotspot location. The issue is that most installs require the blackberry broswer which you indeed need a data plan. Basically, without plan you have voice, SMS and a paper weight.

First, take a look at

and

Second, you likely will not be using data for free. If you are able to obtain data following the information at the second link above, you best figure out how you are being charged for it. Paying per kB can be very costly.

The bottom line is that basically there's no way to get data without paying for it. The phone companies never miss an opportunity to charge you for anything they can, so they keep an eye on possible loopholes and close them when they come up.
