Blackberry (RIM) makes a splash offer to download the music for free. Two attempts lead to Error 404. My question is why make the offer and waste our time before you check out the link, you offered?(n)

RIM has had some pesky data outages lately and their servers going down is getting common. Also, you might not be able to download it on your 7100 as that is a WAY old model and may get rejected by their servers.

Hm... I downloaded it to my Mac just fine. And I (as of a minute ago) downloaded it to my 9700 just fine as well. My time wasn't wasted in either case. So... either user error or old device (or both) is my guess.

I just went to take a look at what you are talking about. I can see the link at mobile.blackberry.com. But I get the 404 error, too. No big deal for me; I don't care. Just providing the info.

Ok. Here's the deal. The link I'm seeing is

http://na.blackberry.com/eng/ads/Mobile_All_You_Need_Is_Love.mp3%20

I copied the link, pasted it into "goto" in the browser, deleted the %20 at the end after mp3, and it works.

Ah. Fair enough. I downloaded it from RIM's website to my Mac without issue, and sent myself a link via RIM's website that also downloaded without issue. I did not try browsing to the website via my BlackBerry however.

So, my apologies to the OP. It does look like a bad link when browsing via the BlackBerry.

Or just buy the whole Beatles album because all their songs rock, then put that on your blackberry!

You do know this is a different version, right?

Yeah, I'm aware  I'm just a Beatles fan girl.

Had. I have had BlackBerries far longer than the iPhone, but have only the 9700 now.
