Hello,
I was wondering, I know you've got to pay with a Blackberry phone if you're on wi-fi in kb. If you use wifi with another phone, not a BB, is it then for free or not. (If you're not downloading anything)

If your connected to your own wi-fi, you don't pay in data even on a blackberry.

And when do you pay then?
If you're connected on an airport or something?
Or do you pay if you're not connected to any wifi hotspot?

Yes, if it is a fee for service Wi-Fi hotspot you would pay.
Or do you pay if you're not connected to any wifi hotspot?
Yes, (of course according to the plan you have).

Of course, the 8110 doesn't have WiFi.

It depends upon the Wi-Fi spot. In most areas it is free. Here in Pakistan, some hotels charge you per hour. They have secured Wi-fi and you have to consult the concerned staff to authenticate the key and then charge you.
If they have unsecured Wi-fi its for free then.
So it is not limited to just Blackberry. Blackberry services has nothing to do with Wi-Fi.
