How to Update my storm 9530. OS

HI!! im new in BB using a Verizon Storm 9530, which is unlocked. using without blackberry services. if i need to update the os to a new vertion can i do it? i tried from BB desktop manager. it says only active BB service subcribers are entitled to install. Any ideas on what I need to do. please help :?

after double cliking the 'Loader.exe it came to Device Application Selection and i coudnt find the aplication to sellect. and i did everything just like the instructions say so. please help me
