View Full Version : Outlook and BB

I am new to my BB. I am a very heavy outlook user for my email. Although I enjoy the mobility of the BB. I want to be able to see all my messages that are sent on the BB in my outlook, and vice versa if able to.

Current Setup
- non-blackberry email address
- Outlook with POP3
- BB that downloads messages from existing email address

What is the best way without any exchange server to keep my outlook and BB in sync?

Thanks
Clint

BES.
BIS does not offer what you want.

BIS = for regular consumers
BES = for companies and businesses

You can get a hosted BES solution like ExchangeMyMail or Link2Exchange, both in our Sponsor's section.

Easy. Just use outlook with your email account as normal and setup the BB with the same account. Both your BB and outlook will receive the same messages. Just make sure you set up outlook to leave the message on the server after downloading, otherwise the BB might not get it.

@<hidden>, the OP wants SENT messages to be viewable on both outlook and BB, which cannot be done with BIS.

Well, he could set up a bcc to a third email account which is not forwarded to his BB but is picked up by Outlook, and then use Outlook filters to direct the message appropriately. However, he won't get the deletes from the BB reflected on his Outlook.

Yeah but then you ll have to leave your outlook machine on all the time, and your outlook connected ofcourse.

You are wrong as usual. When you turn on the computer and connect Outlook to the POP server it will pick up the emails sent to the bcc. Please stop posting about matters of which you are completely ignorant.

READ AND LEARN, and STFU.

I will post just about anything i want to post whenever i choose to. You can count on that.

If you redirect emails to your BB through outlook, then you ll have to keep the machine and outlook on. It's a simple matter, you dont have to go on and on explaining it with pseudo-statements almost as big as your ego.

You actively crap up threads with incorrect information and then get defensive.

That's not posting. That's thread crapping. Posting incorrect information again and again is bad behavior.

I am still in part 1, meet and greet your blackberry. I got stuck on create your own profile. Now that i found about it, i can move on.

In two days only, i can say i know about blackberries more than 50% of the posters on these forums. Imagine what would i become to know after let's say two months.

This guy is reminding me of one of my old students, who scored 220 on the math section of the GRE. I was convinced that we had discovered anti-intelligence.

It's actually very amusing.
More like watching a train wreck actually - we know how it ends. Sadly for the victim.

I have my seat belt on.

There's also the eject button.

I can also bend space and time.

No - you have space between your ears, and you waste everyone's time.
A clarification.

Exactly, good random guessing should have yielded 320.

Umm...Excuse me but I had a similar question at as to the original poster and it seems as doing a BCC as sugested may be a work around. Would one setup an address as say, BBsentmail @<hidden> ****.com, and set up an Outlook rule to direct all emails containing BBsent @<hidden> ****.com to the Sent folder?
What if something is sent from Outlook? I guess one could send a BCC to himself but it would end up in the Blackberry's Inbox and not sent box. Can rules/filters be applied in Blackberry's email client (I haven't set mine up yet)?

On a similar note, if the Blackberry server pushes the email to my blackberry before Outlook has a chanse to receive it, will Outlook still download it? Does BB leave a copy on the server?

Also, I still have a ton of emails on my server because Outlook is already set to leave a copy on the server. If I don't delete these, BB will download all of them, correct?

Thanks for the help,
Jamie
