trackball compatibility

The trackball on my 8900 stopped working. While I am waiting for a replacement one from CNN, can I take the trackball from the 8320 and use it in the 8900?

I think it should be able to. You probably wouldn't need to use the chrome bezel from the 8320. Don't think it'd hurt to try since the trackballs should be more or less the same dimension wise.

I've also heard of people using trackballs from G1s in their BBs.

BTW, if you have the trackball available, why not try it yourself?

I did the swap. The ball from the 8320 works fine on the 8900.
