I need help desperately.

I was using VODAFONE in UK and have now permanently shifted to INDIA

When I insert a orange sim card in the phone, I am able to make and receive phone calls but i am not being able to use the GPRS service.

I just want to know that incase my service provider does not support
BLACKBERRY service but supports only GPRS, can i still surf the internet
using a brower after entering the APN settings?

Please reply, as i am really worried.

No, without a BlackBerry Data Plan you can only use you BlackBerry as a Phone, maybe SMS.

Can't I use it for even sending & receiving emails? I mean if i activate GPRS and download a browser, is there any possibility of using it? If my other Palm OS based phones bought in the US can work in INDIA, why not Blackberry?
any logical reason?
