I have a BES 5.0.1 MR1 server in place using Exchange 2007 currently. I recently installed a Exchange 2010 2 node cluster. I've upgraded the Mapi components on the BES server to the latest 6.5.8153.0.

When I migrate a user from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010, their blackberry doesn't work any longer. I have restarted the BES server several times to see if it would pick it up but it never does.

Has anyone had this problem? I need the two servers to coexist for a while. The BES account is still on the 2007 as are all the blackberry users except for the 1 on the 2010 server that doesn't work.

Did you install RU1?
Turn off throttling?
Add permissions for service account?
You need to move the BEAdmin account first

Yep. Sucks no mixed mode for 2010. We are at 2003 trying to find a way to use BES server and have functional 2003 and 2010 exchange.

If I move the BESAdmin account, will it work for the 2007 users? I'm extremely worried to do that with 150+ blackberry users. I can't move them all to the new 2010 servers overnight so they have to work together.

I didn't have the permissions set on the 2010 server, i've done that now but it's not working as of yet.

I was able to get everything working following this guide:
http//blogs.catapultsystems.com/IT/archive/2010/03/04/exchange-2010-and-blackberry-enterprise-server-express-5-0-1.aspx

The thing that got me was I had to run the get-mailboxserver portion for both my servers.

Works like a charm with BBadmin account on 2007 server and clients on 2010. Next step is to move the bbadmin account and hope all goes well.

We're about to stand up a new BES 5.0 w/ E2010 and have it coexist with a BES 5.0 w/ E2003 for migration.

That isnt possible?

I have mixed users on the BES (Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010). What I do is use static agents for Exchange 2010 people and set those agents to use EWS using the Traittool. It all works great.
