My blackberry will not receive any texts that are over 160 characters. However, the motorola phone I have will receive text that are over 160 characters it just cuts the message off after 160. Why is the blackberry blocking out texts over 160?

I turned on data services and it works. However, I do not have unlimited web, or pay as you go. I simply have unlimited text. Hopefully I don't get charged for having the data services turned on.

Texts are SMS (Short Message Service) Messages. A limit of 160 characters has always been the standard. Use email for larger messages.

Many networks allow messages to be more than 160 characters and sends them as another message.
