Blackberry does not answer immediately

When I go to answer my Blackberry, after pushing the green answer button there is a delay of about 2-3 seconds before anyone can hear me.

Two things, is this a known issue with Blackberry's???
Is there anyway to correct this pita of an issue?

When I push the answer button, guess what? I want it to answer the phone! Not take a nap and then connect with the call. Its really really annoying having to say hello a few times. It is not professional anyhow, having to jumble answering the phone.
I have never had a cell phone not answer right away after pushing the answer button. I have owned over 10 cell phones.

I have a Blackberry 8330. My carrier is US Cellular.

Any info is much appreciated!

The blackberry is not a cell phone. It has a cell phone.

Take a look at what applications you have running, especially those running in the background.

An experiment would be interesting. Do a battery pull, and then call the device as a test. See if same thing happens.

And what OS version is on the device?

I have seen this problem when the network is overloaded. one way transmission and usually no receive. Ask the caller the next time you do talk and see if they heard you. if so it's not the BB. Complaining to the carrier may help you feel better but dont expect them to do anything.
