View Full Version : extract contacts from BB 8900

when connected to the computer i get:
Intellisync: failed to connect to the device...
there are also errors on BB device (mail doesn't work,,..)

i tried different cables, BT, software,....

All i need is contacts form phone !!

1)how can i extract contacts? (i can get one working 8900 if that helps with transfer)

2)if i manage to upgrade phone, will be contacts wiped out or will they stay where they should?

Welcome to the forums.

What errors do you see on the device? What do you mean "mail doesn't work"?

Where do you plan on importing them to, once you have them exported?

1) Via Desktop Manager - Backup/Restore

2) No, it will create a backup file and restore the data once the upgrade has completed.

Also, what carrier so we know if you have a sim card or not, can put em on the sim temporarily if so.

there are different errors at different times...
one of them is:
Uncaught exception: application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(234) is not responding; process terminated
mail doesn't work: when i click mail icon nothing happens, ok after some time you may get one of the errors, and after many attempts you can get into mail program, but still no new emails are here, only old..

i need contacts in outlook, for future gsm synhronisation, at the moment it is HTC hd2..

1) DM doesnt work at all, everytime i connect, the same problem..

2) upgrade through computer is not possible, there is only upgrade through phone itself option, but in this case, no backup, right?

carrier, hm i'm little lost here,VODAFONE_SLOVENIA , i hope this is it??

transfer through sim card is not good idea i think, since sim card transfers only short names and only one number, rest is not transfered(mail,...)??

You have to delete intellisync folder. Which windows u have?
Go to BlackBerry Technical Solution Center (http://www.blackberry.com/btsc)
