can I set BES 5 standby across WAN

What's the requirements for the connection, such as latency, bandwidth? Our BES 5 also host the configureation database. If we can set a standby across WAN we'd like to configure SQL database mirroring to replicate the database onto the standby server. We may or may not use automatic failover.
