Anyone have an 8700 running under t-mobile yet? I want to buy one off of ebay but would like to find out if everything is going to work before I do. I don't think there would be a reason for something not to work except EDGE.

It all works including EDGE if you are in an EDGE area. I think it works beter then even with Cingular because of the BIS. You will prob have to pay $45 to get it unlocked and if it is a launch unit (black box) it cannot be unlocked at this time as far as i know.

So if I buy an unlocked phone, can I just put my SIM card in and have everything work? Or do I have to do more then that?

If it is unlocked, and you already have a dataplan with your current provider, you would only need to go into the BIS and enter the PIN/EMEI to activate your new device.

i ditto that......adam from gsmphonesource sent me the unlock codes within 24 hours. Also note, that he has his phone number up on the site. I did need to call him twice and he always picked up, quickly. Now how many people would pick up the phone (as opposed to routing it the voicemail) let alone put their phone number up on the web? he comes highly recommended.

I'm running an unlocked 8700c under my TMobile account, but I still haven't gotten the EDGE network, maybe they don't have coverage here :-(

look on ebay.

All details are in the listing. This works -- supply your model (8700C) and IMEI and they'll send you the unlock code within a day.
