View Full Version : Abort Exception Reset - 7290

Hello from the UK! :smile:

I have an issue with a Blackberry 7290, Tried both a Soft and Hard Reset to no avail, the Blackberry powers on and I get the following Error Messages

"Underfine Reset"
"Abort Exception Reset"
"AMX FAT Reset"
"Device Error 373 Reset"

Can anyone identify these errors? I have had a search but cannot find any info

I have also change the Battery

I would guess that you need to reload the BlackBerry OS.

wont stay on for more than 3 seconds now

same issue here on a 7100t. I have wiped all apps and reloaded.

Brian from uk also having problems "Abort Exception reset" have tried all as soft reset, hard reset,will not respond to anything,HELP Please.

I would guess that you need to reload the BlackBerry OS.

Hello pj and welcome to BB Forums.
There are many excellent Sticky Thread FAQs at the top of the General BlackBerry Discussion forum with tons of information.
Included is a list of web sites, by carrier, where you can download the BlackBerry Handheld OS from. Here is the thread: http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-software/1871-blackberryos-4-x-download-faq-upgrade-downloads.html

Anticipating the next set of questions, here are the steps required to install/upgrade the OS:

- Shut down Desktop Manager
- Download the handheld OS for your BlackBerry
- Execute the program you just downloaded
- Locate and delete VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive
- Connect the BlackBerry and Restart Desktop Manager
