I have a problem getting my 8310 to connect to DTM. I downloaded the latest DTop manager from BB. I am able to connect and see data on the phone via "my computer" But when I launch DTM. It has a pop up that says, "Before you begin, verify that your current BlackBerry device is connected to your computer."

No PIN is shown in the bottom left of the screen.

Troubleshooting I have tried:
Different cable
Different USB port
Removed the media card
Did a battery pull

I have a 8310
AT&T service.

Have you tried our SEARCH feature? Been asked a few times.

Sorry should have mentioned that. Yes, I did my due diligence. Hope maybe someone has something more to add.

OS on the PC?

OS on the BB?

DM version? Did you try an older version of DM?

Connecting via a HUB?

Using the cable that came with the BB?

Have a BB data plan?

Company computer or home computer?

Anti-virus turned off?

DM properly configured for USB?

I also did a "Wipe hand held", a battery pull. I even slapped it around a bit and threatened its momma. Still no good...

Before you return it, you might try on a different PC.

Are you using DM with or without Media Manager? If with, download 4.6 without it.

Take out the SD card if installed.

The problem could be no BB data plan. I recall that was an issue at one time. Not sure if it still is as I have always had the data plan.

devnull- I have tried it on my work PC and my home laptop and my sons laptop.

Dubdud, I will give it a try tonight. I am not sure how not having the BB plan could make a diff but I'm willing to try anything.

Thanks in for all your help.

Mike

The new DTM 6.0 has just been released. I'll try that one too.
