Been trying to load the OS software on my 8350i Blackberry and the desktop loader stops when it gets to JVM software and says the usb device cant be found, so i got a seral port cable and im trying to hook it into that but my computer will not see it? it will not let me hook the BB to comport 1 thru desk top loader, they say theres a uploader wizard in the program file but i looked there and i dont have that loader in my file, does anyone know how to get past the JVM software or mabey how to hook up the BB via comport 1?

BB does not do serial.

Are you following the instructions in the yellow sticky at the top of the 8300 section?

Is the OS specifically for your version of the 8350?

Did you delete the vendor.xml file?

You might need to wipe it with Jl_cmdr and then try to reload the OS. See the FAQ for more info.

Are you connecting using the USB cable that came with the device?

Do not connect via a HUB. BBs do not like them.

Is this a new or used BB?

Using a Mac or a PC?

when i try to update it stops and then gives this UNSPECIFIED ERROR ENCOUNTERD (A:0x00000001)

Generally caused by a Windows bug that will hiccup when DM loads.

Try rebooting the PC and turning off your anti-virus when you start DM and try to update the OS.
