so i woke up this morning and my blackberry was fine but the battery was really low. around 8 oclock i plugged it into my computer to charge bc i lost my regular charger. i didnt check my phone again until 12 and at that time i realized it wouldnt turn on! i thought maybe it didnt charge and super died so i unplugged it and re plugged it and a red light came on. 2 hours later i went back to check on my phone and the red light was still on but my phone still wouldnt turn on!! i took the battery out and replaced it and i got a white screen with a timer so i thought it was powering on. but after about a minute it turned back off and the red light came back on. ive tried taking out the battery again multiple times but nothing happens. i dont even get a white screen anymore. but everytime i plug my phone in that red light does come on.

can anyone help?? why is it doing this??????? :(

Plug it into your USB port. If the computer detects it, fire up Desktop Manager and try to restore it from a backup you had previously made.

When it really goes dead, sometimes the only way to get a response is to use the wall charger. USB won't work to recharge if it's completely dead for some reason.

See if you can borrow someone's wall charrger; that is almost certainly the issue. Alternatively, buy a new battery. That will probably work as well.

I know the trick, just charge with a wallcharger for like 30mins till the indicator light goes off then quickly unplug the charger, remove the battery for 5 seconds and replace the battery then plug back the charger so that it can charge. It happens to me all the time when battery goes completely dead in which case usb charging cannot help.

I suspect it's because the USB port on your computer can only generate tiny trickle charge ... mine won't even do that. If I plug my BB into my USB port I get a message "not enough power to charge this device" ... which is fine since I only wanted to connect it for file transfer. ;)

There are ac-to-usb and car-to-usb adaptors that let you use the same USB data cable you're using to tether your BB for charging it. They work for all of the other USB devices out there that need power, too.

If you have tried each of the things suggested and they do not work, you will need to contact your carrier (AT&T, Verizon or whoever.) If AT&T is your carrier, you can ask to speak to a Blackberry specialist in the Warranty Dept. They are absolutely awesome!!! And you probably already know this, but don't forget that you should NEVER allow your Blackberry battery to go into the red zone without immediately charging it!!! And I mean turn the phone off and charge it immediately - unless you want to have to buy a new battery. Allowing a Blackberry to go dead, ruins the battery!!! Once this happens, your battery life will really stink unless you buy a new battery!
Also, some folks will tell you that I am full of bull, but check it out for yourself!!! That's how I know that I am correct!!! Hope this helps!!! kkaterinabella
