Backups and timestamps

Hi,


I'm using blackberry desktop to backup my Blackberry 8520. It works, but it generates names like BlackBerry Curve 8520-1.ipd I've seen on other web sites/tutorials that it seems to have generated date / time stamps at one point. Is there a way to configure it to use date stamps?

version: 6.0.0.40

You are seeing the new convention with DM6. The other was probably created on an older DM version.

By the way, if you edit the name of the device in DM6, say to Joe's 8520, then the backup file will be, for example, Joe's 8520-1.ipd.

If you are using Windows as your operating system you should be able change the view of the folder to "list" or "detailed" and you will see the date/time stamp by windows.

Doesn't answer you immediate question but this is another way to tell which backup is newer.
