synchronisation with PC

The synchronisation between my blackberry device and desktop calendar does not seem to work - I have recurring appointments showing on my blackberry which do not appear on my outlook calendar
I am in a different time zone to my blackberry and i can not connect to a mobile network because Telstra (Australia) seems not to have sorted reciprocal network provider or my phone is just playing up

i am in Lima Peru and i only can find movistar network provider when I do a manual scan and after connecting to movistar it immediately goes to SOS calls only - it seems Telstra (Australia) only have deal going with TIM and telefonica and these do not appear on available networks after a manual scan
I am not sure if this has an effect on sync peter
