Blackberry for a Busy Professor

Hi,
So my boss, a very busy university professor, needs a blackberry. i'm not super knowledgeable about these things so maybe y'all could help me out.
he needs it mainly for mobile email access (receives about 125 per day, sends 50 per day) and modest telephone use. in terms of downloading it's mainly text files.
i'm in montreal and was thinking of going through rogers...

also i realize this is a blackberry forum, but is there any reason to favour a BB over say, an Iphone, for these purposes?

Typing is easier for a lot of people with a physical keyboard which a BB has. iPhone is great but BB is traditionally favored by people who send a lot of emails every day.

It is purely a personal choice. The BB is perhaps the best for email, the iPhone is best for multimedia.

As for carrier, you need to look at where the device will be used - where the person lives, works, travels and plays. Find a carrier that has the best coverage in those areas then pick a device.

If he plans to read pdfs, word documents and excel files, then the larger the screen the better.
