Bes

Hi!
We have BES running on an Exchange server. We need Blackberry users who used Outlook connecting to an Exchange mailbox to start using Outlook POP3. Will any change need to be done on the BES side? Will the mails still flow to their Blackberry devices?

BES only works for Exchange, Notes and Groupwise.. BES does nothing with POP3 e-mail accounts. You have to come up with a different solution.

As long as the BES has connection to the Exchange server where the mailboxes are and a copy of the emails are left on the server there shouldn't be a problem.
Why are they moving to POP3 though?

I understood it that you were configuring the exchange server to be a POP3 server as well?
Or are you setting up new POP3 email accounts?

Well, our Exchange server has regular mailbox users and POP3 users. The users on BES were added and don't have trouble except for a new user who doesn't seem to be getting his emails on the Blackberry. This user earlier used to receive emails thru' an Internet e-mail account set up with the Blackberry service provider.
