View Full Version : Can't sync BB Bold to Calendar

I have been using my BB Bold for 4 months and syncing with Microsoft Outlook with no problem. Just updated desktop software and devise software and can not sync BB devise with MS Outlook software calendar. All other sync works fine such at contacts, notes and so on.
Can anyone please tell me how to correct. One more thing I can update from computer to device but not from device to computer.

Options > advanced options > default services ... Make sure both default CMIME and default CICAL are set to an email address that you choose as default, and that both are set to the same address.

Open calendar > menu > options ... Highlight each of the other calendars (except the one you chose as default) in turn, and enter MOVE on the keypad, then select yes. Then close out of options and close calendar.

Now try sync again.

have you tried a battery pull to reset the OS?

Thanks for the info. I did the battery pull and also changed my CMIME and default CICAL to the same email address. They were different. How do I know which one of the 3 email accounts to use or does it make any difference. Just attempted to sync again and still device will not update my computers MS outlook. Any other thoughts? Again all was working unit I updated the BB software.

Outlook syncs with the default calendar on the handset.

I would have said it didn't matter which one you choose, just choose, but when I switched from 8820 with OS 4.5 to the 9700 with OS 5 (and also switched to the newest desktop manager at the same time) it seemed I needed to make my default the same as my default address in Outlook in order to solve some issues I was having. I was never sure that was precisely the solution or not because I made several changes at once and was just scrambling to make it work.

At any rate, if you have the email address you use in Outlook also setup in your BIS, make that one the default and see what happens.

Also, pay attention to the second half of my post above and move entries from other calendars to the default calendar. Then sync again.

..... Also, I reread the first post. Double check your sync settings in outlook. If the sync is only going computer -> handset, then you have one-way sync in that direction selected. Change the setting to bi-directional or two-way sync.

And to be clear, on the calendar, you were seeing no error messages, correct? but just calendar skipped.

Thanks for the help - Not sure why things had changed after installing the upgraded software but followed you direction again made sure that I was using my defult email address. I have been using a BB for years and never had to mess around with that area and did not know that a calendar was tied to an email address. But now know that it makes sense. All appears to be working fine being able to create and edit on the device and computer. Thanks again to you both for responding so fast as I have been pulling my hair out for the last 5 hours.

Excellent. Glad it's working now.

Do you think selecting same address for default as the address used for Outlook made a difference, or did you just miss something the first time around?

Or did you lose the 2 way sync when you updated your desktop software?? Did you chech to make sure that was selected?
