i just wiped my blackberry pearl 8100 with at@<hidden> service after i backed it up on my computer to save messages from a friend who just passed away. Now i have a 507 error and just need to know what software for the computer as well as the os to download as i am a little confused. any help is appreciated. Thank you. The reason I wiped the phone is because my trackball doesnt work even with a new trackball and i already tried cleaning it to no avail. i read that a virus may have caused this to happen but im not sure so i did it anyway. I love this phone and just want to read texts and see photos and such of my friend who passed as i cant unless the trackball works. thanks

You need the latest version of Desktop Manager for your pc and the latest version of the handheld OS for the 8100.

Desktop Software (http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/)

Latest 8100 Software (http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8100-series-discussion-pearl/236835-latest-os-8100-4-5-0-313-4-5-0-188-multilanguage.html)

There is an excellent guide that will walk you through the process in the BlackBerryForums FAQ (http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_upgrade_the_OS_on_my_BlackBerry%3F)

Check the yellow sticky at the top of the 8100 section for the latest OS for your device and for the instructions on how to do it. Make sure that you follow them EXACTLY and you be patient. It can take an hour or more to run completely. Make sure that you have enough battery power on the BB and laptop (if applicable) to last for a couple hours.)
