Stopping messages from popping up in other messages

I don't know if I am in the right spot. I have a Tour 9630. But I put this in here because I don't think this feature is unique to the Tour. And I know the thread title is ambiguous as hell, but I had no idea how to describe it. But you know how when you're typing a BBM or a SMS to someone, and someone else sends you a BBM or a SMS, the newly sent message will pop up at the bottom of the screen, kind of like a preview? Is there any way to disable that? I like it sometimes, but I would hate to be showing someone (like my boss) a message on my phone while one of my bonehead friends sends me something inappropriate and it pop up. Thanks for any help.

Message notification is not optional unless you disable the SMS.
