I just learned how expensive roaming GPRS is as it's not covered by the monthly international data service.

Is there an option to disable it?

Thanks

Manage Connections > Mobile Network Options > then under Data Services, toggle "while roaming" to OFF.

I have the international package which includes 3G and EDGE. Can I turn off GPRS only?

Thanks!

You cannot choose which bands to turn off. They are selected automatically by the BlackBerry itself. It will always choose the best connection available. You shouldn't be charged for GPRS connections if you have 3G and EDGE on your plan.

GPRS < EDGE < 3G.

Do you mean international or domestic?

On my bill, international roaming GPRS is in a separate section. It's very expensive!

They charge for International GPRS roaming, but not International EDGE or 3G roaming? That sounds crazy to me.

Rambo47 is correct. All you can do is select either 2G or 3g/2g you cannot defeat GPRS.
Roaming is either used or not depending on location and service company for that area.
