So I have a user with a 9700, I just installed OS 6 (the latest Rogers version Bundle 1879).

I have added myself to his BBM, if I create a new chat with him I can send him messages without an issue. He can then reply and I will receive it, as soon as he replies though he stops receiving my messages that I send.

For example, I create a new chat from my BB and am able to send him 3 test messages without an issue. He then sends me 3 test messages without an issue. If I then send him another message it will report delivered on my device but will not come through on his, yet he can still send messages to me without an issue.

anybody have any ideas?
I could accept if it either worked or didn't work but the fact that it only stops working after a reply has me boggled.

TIA
James

**Edit**
As an update I've also notcied that the same problem occurs if I send a message to his device and he does not have the chat window open. If he has the chat window open he can receive my messages until he replies if the Chat window is not open then none of the messages will be received on his device.

Can you tell us what version of BBM is installed on the device?

options -> device -> Application management.

I'm using 5.0.1.41.

Maybe he has an old version installed?

This is the latest version available from AppWorld.

Have you done a battery pull and resent service books on the BB in question?

Was it working correctly before the OS update?

I don't know the exact version of BBM but the problem was happening in the OS 5 version and still happened in the OS 6 version after the update so I don't think it was the BBM version.

Battery Pull was tried but I did not try resending the service books.

In the end apparently his clients absolutely must communicate through BBM so that there is no record through their companies BES server (his actual words) and therefore it had to be fixed ASAP and he could not afford to give the device up for a day for me to troubleshoot, therefore it was switched with someone who does not use BBM, the other device worked fine.

End result is we got around the problem but never got the chance to actually try and fix it.

Thanks for the replies though.
