View Full Version : Opera Mini is out! install on the 7100?

Just FYI for anybody that wants to check out Opera Mini

GOTO: http://mini.opera.com
in your browser on your phone and download.

It installed fine but I'm seeming to have problems getting it to run effectively. Anybody else try this out yet and have success or can explain why it just may not work for the 7100t?

I didn't try it... I went to the page and it said it didn't work for the 7100t so I just said oh well

hmm... All I see is that the 7100v isn't supported

idk - I just want to use some new stuff - tired of oem browser.

"Your phone may display a message telling you to ensure you have set up an Internet connection or GPRS access point before using Opera Mini. If you have not yet set up a connection, you should do so now."

how do we do that?

I would stay away, whenever I run mine it borks my system....sim card unavailable...have to pull battery and reboot

i would avoid this thing at all costs.

i've tried multiple versions on both my 7100t and 7105t and they never work properly, even though the OTA dl will identify the handset correctly (at least as a 7100 RIM device).

it's buggy as an entomologist's wet dream.

I have the 7130e and just tried the low memory version. Waaaay too slow!! Seems almost buggy. Highly suggested to avoid this until a BB optimized version comes out.

Hey guys, I think this is my actual first post, so, yay for that!

OK, so I tried the Mini Opera today when I saw the digg post and it sucked hard. I have a 7100i and both high and low memory versions just tanked my bb. I even tried it on my buddy's Verizon 7250 (or is it a 7520...hmmm) and it was just as bad.

The OEM browser may be crappy but its a billion times better than that Opera Mini in my opinion. It would be great to see a browser like Netfront, Mozilla (Firefox), or Thunderhawk (ppc) ported to the bb 7100i.

I installed it on my 7100i and it worked fine (low memory). takes a long time to load up.

But it did pull up my bank site and let me in.. This has not been possible with any of the other browers. My bank site says that it is a unsecure connection so that sucks.

I like the home page of opera.
