Hi all,

Just started with a new company and they gave me a 'temporary laptop' to use. It is running XP Home 2002 Service Pack 3.

I've installed DM 6 but when I try to run it, I get, "Blackberry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I found some threads that discussed this issue but none of the recommended fixes seem to work for me.

Help! :?

Perhaps the company doesn't allow unauthorized applications to be loaded. Are you logged in as an Administrator?

Yes, logged in as administrator.
Going to try uninstalling and installing version 5.

Update - removed DM 6 and installed DM 5.
Software runs, set up the sync options, when sync'ing the contacts, I got an Intellisync error "Connector specific error"

Ugh... I just want my contacts on my cellphone, why does this have to be so difficult?!?!

Sounds like there is a restriction on the laptop.

Or is the BB on BES? If so, could be an IT policy issue.

You should talk to your IT staff.

No, no BES here.

Odd, I'll try the IT staff again. Unfortunately, we are a relatively small company and I might just be part of the IT staff. :)
