Those Favorite/Downloads/Media/Frequent menus on the screen are so annoying, anyone knows how to remove them?

Seams that this is fix only in OS 7 until now.

Or, another theme. There are several free ones out there that do not have the additional screens. I have tried a few and they work well, like the Simplex theme for example.
