8700v - Vodafone UK

I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere, but I noticed today that there's software available from Blackberry for the 8700v - it's on the Blackberry Vodafone UK software download page (version 4.1.0.211 posted on the 23-Jan-06).

I assume that Vodafone are getting ready to launch the 8700v in the UK.

Yes you can probably load it on a 8700c (not sure why you'd want to do this though?). You need to delete a file called vendor.xml on your PC before trying to update your BB.

You have a point. I just loaded it onto my 8700c and notice no differences (running on the Rogers network):

Functionality there is no difference. Some minor cosmetic bugs have been resolved in this build. For example, the ringer issue is fixed.

Cool, thanks. I see O2 UK are now selling it. When their handheld software is available for download I'll put that on as I'm on the O2 network anyway so want their theme.

I downloaded the new software, deleted the vendor.xml file, installed teh new software and sync'd my BB, but no changes took effect when I go to optiuons -->about. It still showing I have the old software. How do I get the new software on my BB?
