Unlocking 7230 from O2 (uk)

I bought a 7230 from a seller on Ebay and o2 will not sell me a data only contract.

Has anyone had any success getting a BB unlocked from O2? Can I just call them and ask for an unlock code so I can use it with my Orange contract

I have the same problem and do not know how to unlock this 7230 locked to O2 network... anyone could help ?
