I have searched and searched; every single forum & website I go to which lists BB 7230 Ring tones end abruptly when downloading. This model is never listed....ever, what is the deal here!!

Sorry, I just got this, but have never found something as easy as downloading ring tones to be so Bloody complicated.

Any help is immensely appreciated!!!

You can use midi files as ring tones. Personally I like www.midisite.co.uk.

Just go to the midi link and then save.

BTW search button is your friend

Do you need a certain application loader to work with ringtones? I am very new at this, when I go into application loader it searches only for .alx or .ali files. The rigntone is saved as a .wpl.

As has been noted in many, many threads before, the only way to get ringtones to your BlackBerry is via the browser. Point your browser - AND A SAMPLE WEB SITE IS PROVIDED ON THIS THREAD - select and download the ringtone. You can not load ringtones through the Application Loader.

Well I accessed the website above via my Blackberry however I cannot get the search function to work.

Is there something that I need to upgrade on my web browser??

Yes, I did a lot of searching.................and now I am here.

Are you using the WAP web browser or the BlackBerry browser? BES or BWC?

Thanks.

I dunno, set up under BWC but don't know what WAP is?

WAP is the Wireless Access Protocol - it is a very limited web browser. Since I use the BlackBerry Browser, via BES, I can get full HTML browsing. Perhaps another BWC browser customer can advise.

NJBlackBerry & Bratag, thanks you guys have been great.

Hopefully there is an add-on or application which can enable full html.

Also, every time I go to "more" or the next page I get an error that the page is outdated.....does that sound strange to you?!?

How about browsing the website from your PC, then finding the exact URL to the midi file you're interested in and then browsing to that link directly on the BlackBerry? It should then give you the option to save the file.

Once saved, go to your setup for the ring tone and the new midi should be in the list of options.
