The other US carriers all have ways to check usage from your handset (either by dialing or sending a text message to a 'short code') - and Sprint has FINALLY enabled the same functionality.

For Sprint usage, send a text message to short code 1311, and a free text will be returned to you with your current month's usage.

Text upgrade to 1311 and it will let you know your upgrade eligibility date.
