JL_Cmdr Screenshots of Your Home Screen

http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=18789

For those of you that have not tried this great little utility, check it out and post a screen shot of your Home Screen so we can see what theme and other look and feel people are using. It's just for fun.

Note when you do the screenshot it will open in your default viewer for bitmap files (bmp). The file size will be about 300kb which is too big to post here. Try saving as jpg. My file size was reduced to 20kb.

Have fun everyone.

How the heck do you do this? I ran the file, but I don't know what to do to get it up on my PC? Run > CMD, then what?

When you installed it there should be a desktop icon. Run that when attached via USB. Then hit any key on the PC. The choose Screenshot from the menu. That's all there is to it. How the heck do you do this? I ran the file, but I don't know what to do to get it up on my PC? Run > CMD, then what?

My theme and wallpaper for today (something bright and cheerful - Orange theme with a pre-installed pic as wallpaper):

You rock, thanks...

Here is my current one, the standard Vodafone with the included optional White BBTiles background. (Sabesh, you've got mail...)

People seem to like a clean background. I think it's the only way to identify the icons. I like the fade out look of my pic under the blue at the top of the my theme.

Hey Doc,

Cool looking home screen. I saw yours on the Millinium site where I downloaded mine. You did a fantastic job creating it.

I'd like to get one geared for the mortgage industry.

I personally would rather see it here. I don't want to go to three different forum threads to find info for just the 8700. Just my .02

My purpose was to get people to use Javaloader with the Jl cmdr interface so it really wasn't a theme exercise, and heck I have more loyalty here.

That's what I was thinking. By posting here you limited it mostly to 8700 users. Javaloader and JL cmdr are not limited to just the 8700.

And don't kid yourself, your loyalty goes across most of the Forums. It aint limited to just this board. Thanks for the good work, especially the Tips.

Next time I have time to play around on my PC I'll load up JL CMDR and post mine.

Thanks for your Help.

I really like the Vodafone one I got with the Vodafone package install. And the O2 one is quite cool as well, my second favorite. But I have a feeling that the radio reception is affected when that is installed, though dc/dc thinks not. I am not convinced. I cannot figure out why my EDGE reception has decreased since the switch I made. Could it just be a theme? If I keep the Vodafone package installed and change to Wave theme will it really make my reception stronger? I just don't understand how or why, but if that is true then I want to keep the Vodafone package because of the themes, and I can use a "stronger" theme when in weak spots. Anyone have any input before I re-install the Cingular package onto my 8700?

I agree, I don't either but until Plazmic comes out with some alternate indicator options in an update, all you can change is the Wallpaper, or Have I missed something?

Anyway, I enjoy playing around with the menu options and Icons and I can live with the wings for now.

Here are two more alternate themes I have created, one for the Coast Guard and the other for the Artillery people.

Thanks again for your great tips.

Given the limitations of the Single Base theme from Plazmic for the 8700, are these more to your liking. I hadn't played with these until you mentioned it even though I knew about it from the others, but I really like them this way now.

Thanks for the gentle push to try it.

do you have to have the java slide thingy?

KonTiki
02-04-2006, 09:12 PM
413 too large.

If you have an editor, download it and delete most of the blank space inbetween rings, and maybe one of the four rings, that will reduce the size considerably, I wish that is all i needed to do, my problem is that I cannot convert it to a polyphonic ringtone, and now i am a bit obssesed because i think that is the ringtone i have wanted all along. You know the syndrome if you cant have it, it is definitely the one you must have. Oh well.

Stinsonddog there is a lot of free software out there that will let you edit mp3 and reduce the size. give it a go upload it and then try it again.

I agree. I love the Zen theme. It's perfect. I switched to the Telstra FW and apps yesterday and It is soooo much better than the crapular build. One thing I noticed was overall it's faster. I have a couple of numbers in my address book that I have waits and pauses. The auto dialing after the wait is so much faster since I started using the Telstra build (thanks to the forum member that put all of that together. Was it Seattle18? I think it was).

With the Cingular load, it was like, 'beep' <half second pause>, beep <half second pause>, and so on. Now they are one right after the other with no delay. Anyway, overall this Telstra build is soooo much better for me. There are probably some things about it that longtime crackberry users don't like but I think it's a keeper. Plus, you get the Zen theme.

Anyway, here's a pic from London that I took and a pic of Sly Stone kicking my messages to the curb.

I like the speedometer background. Has that been posted here? If not, maybe you can post it in the background thread in the Ringtones, Themes and Wallpaper Discussion.

How'd you get it to say Voicestream?

I was in Vermont and that's what they are using way up there. Although I was confused about that because the only signal we get up there is the 850Mhz and I don't think Voicestream has an 850Mhz band. Also on the other two phones I had up there, they said the service was named USA 890? That area of Vermont is sometimes a step behind with cell phone service. When Cingular started, they were still selling Cell-One service. Most places have TMobile, they're using Voicestream. Oh well, I got service and surprisingly EDGE internet signal, I thought for sure I was going to get only GPRS.
