Two Colors on my calender

Hello everyone, this is my first post here at BB Forums. I have an old BB 8330 from sprint. On my calender it seems that items that are linked with my address book such as birthday, anniversaries, etc. notifications come up in green on my calender and do not ring when the day arrives. The notification just stays silent. However if you put in a new calender event (not linked to address book) such as grocery shopping at 5pm, it will come up in blue. When 5pm hits, it rings as its supposed to. How do I get my notifications from my address book to ring and alert me? Last question, how do I get my contacts to load to my gmail account, is their an easy way of doing this? Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it.

Have you checked your sound notifications settings.

Unfortunately that's not it, it's not just the sound. It doesn't alert at all, sound or any form of notification. I honestly don't know what to think at this point. Let me know what you guys think.
