Did you install the device OS on the COMPUTER after you downloaded it and then delete the vendor.xml file from the computer?

And did you locate and delete ALL copies of VENDOR.XML on the C: drive (after downloading and installing the handheld OS to your computer).

yes.. problem is solved. My data cable indicated a problem. I've had success using the os 5xx. Thanks for the help
