The process worked well:

Managed to get Skype (useless without video.!)..just another chat.

As for WhatsApp..it too is kind of useless if you already have it on your phone as one can only have it on 1 device per instance. In my case am leaving it on my PB (rogers) and not on my Telus 9900. (where I work Rogers has the only decent service if you can believe that.!) Telus is dead in the water in Far North Eastern Alberta...and Rogers has a flippin tower right on site. go figure.

Google maps is excellent..works well and no issues.

TubeMate is pretty cool too - download/save videos and watch offline - quite usefull.

I truly hope that in an ensuing update of the software, Skype will go native to PB and allow video/voice calling...it should work given there is a "voice notes" app.

Dont want to turn this into a review of PB sideloaded apps...but let it be known that there is no way to "return to previous page" (back button), or return to contacts on the current whats app. At least as far as I can see. Tis a bit of a PITA to have to close and then re-open up to start a different conversation with someone else.
