Error: The document "Backup before update Blackberry Tour (803BFBD13) (2010-10-19).bbb" could not be opened. blackberry desktop software cannot open files of this type

Hello. I am hoping to restore some backups from my old Tour (2010) on a Macbook running Snow Leopard. The restore files are saved in 2 filename formats (and have no idea why). I am able to restore files that have file name Format A but cannot open any in Format B. Can anyone please help?

Format A- Blackberry Tour (803BFBD13) (2010-10-20) - (Auto).bbb

Format B (3 files trigger above error)- Backup before update Blackberry Tour 803BFBD13) (2010-10-19).bbb

Backup before update Blackberry Tour 803BFBD13) (2010-05-27).bbb

Backup before update Blackberry Tour 803BFBD13) (2010-03-30).bbb

The backup is from 2010 and may not work on the latest desktop or Link software. There are various methods to open the file and at least get the information for use on another phone.
this is one I found. They offer a free conversion. I have not used the software so read instructions before you do anything,

Really appreciate your reply! Thank you!

I have heard extract softwares are not very good but will try the ones you sent. Thank you again.

I have restore files back to 2009 that work fine and am using desktop software version 5.0.0.975, running on the original MacBook, running Snow Leopard. All backups work fine on this MacBook except the 3 from 2010 for some reason.

Any and all help is really appreciated. I have time critical information stored in those backups and am completely stuck.

As I suggested , read the instructions and make sure you use a copy of the files your trying to open to play with. I had a problem with my phone last year and was also forced to use an extraction software to open and read the contacts and some other info to manually restore info on the phone.

The failure to restore the files may indicate they are corrupted. Hopefully you can get the info you need and the files are not too bad.
