We will be changing the server that BES runs on soon. I was looking for tips or maybe even a Whitepaper on the procedure of moving the BES service to a new server. Running on BES version 3.6.2.14, both old and new server operating system will be Windows 2003 simply upgrading to newer hardware.

Thanks

If you are moving your 3.6 server to another 3.6 server rim has a whitepaper on what they call a knife edge cut over. I used it when I was migrating from one server to another. I searched RIM's support site and found this. Knife Edge Cut Over (http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/8021/728075/728850/728216/How_To_-_Do_a_knife-edge_cutover_from_BlackBerry_Enterprise_Server_4.0?nodeid=1161637&vernum=4) It is for a 4.0 server. I know that they have one for a 3.6 because I have used it, I was just not able to find it on there site. You might be able to do a better search than I. Let me know if this helps.

I did a writeup on this that combined moving the server and migrating databases all in one. You could probably easily use that document to figure out a safe process. It's an older post if you search for migration msde to sql.
