First, my device has been collecting more dust than my vacumn. I've noticed a thread devoted strictly to this, but since I dont have 2 hours to burn going through all 400 posts, I dont know what most people are doing to fix this problem. Any suggestions on how to fix myself?

Secondly, with over 50% of my incoming sms messages, when i hit (r)eply to write back, i get an error message and am forced to create a new sms. This happens when I also use the pull down menu and choose reply, not just when hitting R. Any suggestions?

Lastly, over 70% of the calls coming in, are displaying just the phone number and not the contact name. I normally dont answer it cause I assume its someone I dont know since the name didnt get pulled from my address book, but when I go into the phone to see the missed call, the name of the person who just called is listed. Why is it not showing when the call is coming in, but only after I dont answer it??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Upgrade the OS to the .284 code. See the other thread. Won't fix the dust though.

On the last question, I've heard that if your phone is locked when a call comes in the BB won't display the name because accessing the address book requires the phone to be unlocked. Don't know if this is fixed in the new release.

Hope this helps.

If you are within 30 days of purchase I would definitely go to CIngular and get a new unit. 20 minutes afterward when you get home I would upgrade to the .284 code like mentioned above. Then I would get a nice case and live happily ever after.

Sorry, but this may be a stupid question. How do I upgrade the OS?

Not looking good. I am on a Mac.

Is there an OTA update?
