When I'm on the road & don't have internet connectivity, my Berry is the only way to stay in touch. However, composing many long emails on the Berry is tiring after a while. My notebook PC has a full size keyboard & is able to connect to the Berry - is it possible to use the PC keyboard to control the Berry?

I know I can buy an external BB keyboard. I don't want to, & can't spare the space in my briefcase.

I know it is possible to use the Berry as a modem. I've tried this and it works - I could manage my email using Outlook. But it's slow. I'd rather just be able to use the connection between the PC and the Berry to write the emails, & then just let the Berry send them as usual.

I found some code written by an intern at RIM to do this, but it was written long ago & doesn't appear to work with the 7100.

Any ideas??

There are some usb keyboards that will work with the BB. Google and see what you come up with. There are some companies out there that make them for the BB's.

BT versions as well. Search for those...

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 7280: BlackBerry7280/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/1.1)

A work around that I've used is to compose the message in an outlook note, then sync with the Blackberry, then cut & paste the memo text into the body of your email.
